Zona Romántica
The neighborhood south of the Río Cuale, known for walkable streets, restaurants, cafés, galleries and nightlife. Basilio Badillo runs through the middle of it.
Los Muertos Beach
The main beach in Zona Romántica, with beach clubs, loungers and casual restaurants along the sand. Approximately a five-minute walk from the studio.
Los Muertos Pier
A landmark pier at the south end of the beach, also a departure point for water taxis to the southern beaches.
Malecón
Puerto Vallarta's seaside promenade, lined with sculptures, bars and restaurants. A short walk north along the waterfront.
Restaurants
Basilio Badillo and the surrounding streets hold one of the densest concentrations of restaurants in the city, from taco stands to long-established dining rooms.
Cafés
Independent coffee shops and bakeries are scattered through the neighborhood, most of them within a few blocks.
Nightlife
Bars, lounges and live music venues run late in Zona Romántica, with plenty of options within a short walk.
Gay-friendly nightlife
Zona Romántica is home to many of Puerto Vallarta's best-known gay bars and clubs, and the neighborhood is welcoming to all travelers.
Shopping
Boutiques, artisan shops and galleries sit alongside the restaurants, with grocery stores and convenience stores close by.

Galleries, public sculpture along the Malecón and seasonal art walks are part of everyday life in the neighborhood.
Day Trips
Water taxis and buses reach Yelapa, Quimixto, Sayulita, San Pancho and the Sierra Madre towns for a day away from the city.
Beaches
Beyond Los Muertos, Conchas Chinas, Mismaloya and the southern coves are a short ride or boat trip away.
Transportation
Most of the neighborhood is walkable. City buses, taxis and ride-hailing are readily available, and the airport is a short drive north.
